Welcome back everyone for some more Bizarre Wedding News! The clocks have changed, the sun has returned and we are almost out of this miserable winter! This time around we’ve got some celebrity news, memorable movie wedding dresses, and a certain trend that really should not be sticking around. Buckle in and get ready!

https://www.usmagazine.com/stylish/news/arie-luyendyk-jr-lauren-burnhams-wedding-rings-details/?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190115.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

We had already covered the Luyendyk/Burnham wedding about a month ago, but more details are emerging from their wonderful Hawaiian ceremony. First and foremost: their rings were designed by the renowned Neil Lane. The bride’s was a “handmade platinum eternity band set with almost 35 French cut diamonds down the center and surrounded on all three sides with over 200 smaller round diamonds” Talk about a sparkly ring! The groom’s wasn’t nearly as glamorous, but fancy nonetheless, it was just a simple rose gold band “fused with platinum.”

Some other fun details include the fact that the Bachelor host himself, Chris Harrison, officiated the ceremony. After such a controversial season on the show, Harrison surely was hoping for just a little more–alas, it never came. And the two are happily married now!

We’re big movie fans here at Best Made Videos®, so surely there would come a time when we talk about bridal gowns featured in the most famous movies of all time. This article from Elle does an excellent job of covering the many decades of film.

First and foremost, the dresses from Frankenstein and, well, Bride of Frankenstein, give us the 1930s black-and-white feels with both being made by Vera West. Jump ahead four years and things have gone full Technicolor with Vivien Leigh in Gone With the Wind rocking a Walter Plunkett gown. Some more familiar faces in the article like Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, remind us of all the wonderful movies we have gotten over the years. Don’t forget to check out 1987 for The Princess Bride, and all the way up to the most recent film on the list: Sex and the City starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Now it’s time to go back and rewatch all these classics!

https://www.marthastewartweddings.com/650588/etiquette-guest-arriving-after-ceremony-starts?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190115.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

The article title is really a question, “What should a guest do If he or she arrives after the ceremony has started?” Well, the easy and totally not smart-alec answer to that question is: never be late for a wedding. These things are planned out months, and sometimes years in advance, so it should be pretty easy to get there on time.

However, if you must be late, the article provides the proper etiquette to use to not embarrass yourself, or ruin the ceremony. The first tip is pretty self-explanatory, and considering you are already late, you don’t need to “plan ahead” anymore. The next tip is to find an usher to try and guide you into the ceremony, which blends into the third tip, “enter unnoticed.” Of course, once you do get in, “act like it didn’t happen,” because if nobody saw, nobody needs to know and get upset! And you’ll keep all your credibility. Win-win for everyone!

https://www.mamamia.com.au/2019-wedding-trends/?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190115.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

We have seen a lot of crazy things at weddings. From gruesome (yet delicious) cakes, to animals showing up for some photobombing all the way to exes barging in to ruin the day. This trend, we can thankfully say we have never experienced–and if this article is any indicator, we never will.

According to Pinterest and their “biggest wedding trends for 2019,” none other than…smoke bombs make the list. At first, this might seem really dazzling and unique. What says JUST MARRIED like popping off some emergency smoke bombs to illuminate your photos with colorful smoke and chemicals. You wouldn’t believe it, but “according to Pinterest, searches for smoke bomb photography are up by 436%.While they are technically, ‘safe grenades,’ you really have to ask yourself a good hard question: do you really want “bombs” or “grenades” anywhere near your big day? If the answer is yes, please be careful and have a couple of fire extinguishers on hand. If the answer is no, good for you. Seriously.

https://www.brides.com/story/american-wedding-study-how-much-average-wedding-2018-cost?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190115.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

As 2018 was officially wrapped up, the big numbers started to roll in for the average costs of weddings last year. It must’ve been a year of some truly spectacular weddings, because the average cost hopped up around $17k from 2017. That cost right there is enough for a car: 2017’s average was $27k, which means 2018 was $44k. Now that is a lot.

The article dives into where all of this money goes. Basically, couples aren’t paying more for new trends or anything like that; rather, they are just dropping more money on weddings as a whole. According to the article, the wedding cake, favors, rehearsal dinner and more all remained the in terms of proportion, while the most major differences occurred on the jewelry side of things.

With all this money flying around, someone has to be paying for it. And according to the article, it’s the parents who get hit with the bill more often than not. And there’s even been a large increase in the amount of parents who do. In 2018 alone, 42% of married couples had their parents pay for the wedding. For comparison, in 2017, about half the couples asked claimed to have paid in full for their wedding. Either way, 2019 is going to be an interesting year for sure!

That’s it for this week! We hope you have been left informed and entertained! If you have any stories to share, please leave them below!

Welcome back everyone to another wonderful edition of Bizarre Wedding News. For first time readers: this is our chance to share all of the crazy and weird shenanigans that go on in the world of weddings. As such, these stories range from hilarious to tragic, as well as informative and inspirational. This week we have a pretty good balance, so let’s dive right in!

https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/family-heartbroken-after-camera-containing-pictures-of-couple-s-wedding-stolen/902560716

We will get the tragic news out of the way first. This story comes out of North Carolina, where a thief broke into a photographer’s car and took more than just a camera.

The camera itself contained a memory card that held the footage from a couple’s wedding just a month ago. With everyone horribly sad about this stupid thief’s actions, Will Brank, the photographer, doesn’t even want his camera back–if only the thief would share the photos online for the bride and groom to cherish forever.

Like many situations like this, internet posts have gone out to see if the thief might actually have a bit of a heart. Alas, like we have come to learn, they do not. And so this couple still remains without their wedding footage. We hope it is found soon!

https://abc30.com/society/6-year-old-does-the-floss-during-parents-wedding;-lands-on-afv/5071938/

Flossing has really become the greatest new thing since sliced-bread. And by flossing, I do not mean the action that would make your dentist happy (though people really should be flossing more). No, I mean the dance that has seen celebrities and regular people alike making waves on the internet by busting out their moves. During one wedding ceremony, the son of the bride and groom in question started to just rock on out with some flossing.

Though he eventually stopped, he snuck in a quick dab as well. The video has gained such traction that it actually appeared on America’s Funniest Home Videos. Whether you love it or hate it, flossing is here to stay for the time being.

https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/duchess-meghans-half-brother-thomas-markle-jr-is-engaged/

Some big news from one of our favorite Royal couples: Duchess Meghan’s half-brother is now engaged–and he wants his sis and her hubby (meaning Prince Harry) to come along for the wedding. Fortunately this probably won’t cause as much hullabaloo as their own wedding, but whenever you have royalty involved–things can get pretty ritzy before you know it.

Alas, the US Weekly article does indeed state that he is actually “estranged” from Meghan, however Thomas Markle believes that the wedding could reunite the two families once again. The end of the article goes on to rehash all of the bad blood between Meghan and the rest of her families. I would make the bet that they don’t attend. What do you think?

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/groomsman-caught-checking-out-friends-new-bride-in-cheeky-wedding-photo

Our final story this week is a quick one–but one to surely make you chuckle. A wedding in England featured a truly hilarious group photo following the ceremony. In the photo, the newlyweds stand beaming with excitement along with most of their bridal party. However, one friend, appears to be staring down the bride’s dress with an utmost silly look on his face. He later admitted that he had perhaps dranken a little and thought it would be a fun way to “wind them all up.”

It certainly did, as both the newlyweds chided he was an A-hole, though they also saw just how funny it was in the scheme of things.

Even though we are on vacation in Hawaii, the world of Bizarre Wedding News never slows down. Although we are braving the rain inside today, the 70 degrees temperature is still a welcome respite from the 38 degrees that Seattle is currently experiencing. So, with everyone hopefully staying all warm and cozy inside under a blanket, it’s time to dive back into the wild world of weddings. Fair warning, things are going to get a little crazy!

https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/g25719134/celebrity-weddings-2019/

We’ll get things started off with some of Emily Tannenbaum’s predictions for the biggest celebrity weddings of 2019. Coming from Cosmopolitan, some of the pics seem pretty obvious after 2018. Take for example Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas; an already big year for Turner with the end of Game of Thrones (as well as Dark Phoenix), the 2018 extravaganza of the other Jonas’ wedding needs to be topped in equal fashion.

Also predicted are Lady Gaga and Christian Carino (who got engaged back in October) as well as Super Bowl performer Travis Scott and fiancé Kyle Jenner. Tannenbaum predicts it to be a secret wedding as well!

https://www.brides.com/story/karlie-kloss-shares-footage-wedding-day

Though they got married back in October (in their own secret wedding), supermodel Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner haven’t really let anyone else in on the magical day. That changed last month when Karlie posted a video on YouTube, “Year In Review,” which featured some glimpses of the wedding.

Without spoiling much, you get a wonderful sense of the happy day, as well as some of the prep work like dress shopping. Be sure to check out the video to see what was assuredly a magnificent day.

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/groom-in-china-to-sue-friends-over-wedding-day-hazing-that-sent-him-to-hospital-i-was-so-tortured

We’re going to take a break away from some of the more happy moments of weddings and turn to a rather intense tale of pre-ceremony hazing gone wrong. You might think this is some bizarre plot from a movie, but it isn’t and it’s very scary.

Before his wedding, 24-year-old Ai Guangtao was being “pranked” by friends, who while inked and being egged, was tied to a pole and beaten with a bamboo stick! To take things to an even more outrageous level—in his attempt to get away from his “friends,” Ai ran into oncoming traffic and was hit by a freaking car.

Naturally, this has left him pretty rattled, but to make things worse—the driver of the car is suing him personally for causing the wreck…so Ai is suing his friends in return! What fun!

In all seriousness, Ai actually had to be hospitalized for a fractured skull. The “friends” were able to raise some minor funds (about $875) to help pay. Though the ceremony was cancelled, they were supposedly “legally married” before! Best of wishes to the newlyweds, and here’s to hoping they get some retribution and justice!

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/funny-wedding-vows_n_5c2cfa06e4b08aaf7a95307c

Back to some more light-hearted material—we definitely need it now—this article delves into the funniest vows that officiants have ever heard. And by funny, it also means downright absurd. Rick Kaplowitz describes one occasion when he married to Pastafarians (yes, that is a religion) who celebrate September 19th as Talk Like a Pirate Day. Well, that just so happened to be their wedding day, so wouldn’t you know it they all spoke like pirates during their vows. Kaplowitz also says that they had “two short readings selected from “The Princess Bride.”

My other favorite one I read, though brief, is told by Harris Bloom, who tells the tale of a groom who “started to sing to his fiancé.” Not only that, but he “wanted her to join in!” Bloom described it as a “looooooong minute.” I don’t blame him!

https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/mlb/reds/2019/01/07/anthony-desclafani-gets-married-shares-wedding-photo/2500291002/

Though much of the world is still lingering on the aftermath of the Super Bowl, a month ago in the baseball world, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Anthony Desclarafani got married. To commemorate the day, he went to none other than Twitter to share the blissful wedding day. Posting a picture, followed by the team’s page doing more of the same, some of his teammates made little jabs at him.

Tucker Barnhart, catcher for the Reds, chided, “it was very nice of you to throw a party this weekend for my birthday! You guys are the best!!!” Meanwhile, opposing pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, Nick Wittgren, joked, “We try to clean up every now and again,” as he posted a photo with his wedding date. Congrats to the newlyweds!

https://www.wideopencountry.com/12-redneck-wedding-cakes/

As has been the tradition lately, we are closing this edition out with more wedding cake! This time, an article that delves into the idea of “redneck wedding cakes.” Now, the term redneck might be offensive to some, so we apologize to any of you offended. We didn’t write the article, after-all.

After seeing some of these cakes, you might actually be able to get behind some of these hilarious, yet truly creative delicacies. On one hand you have something adorable like the camouflage cake with the bride and groom fishing off the side. There’s a pun to be made somewhere here…

Another superbly cute cake titled “rustic tree,” is exactly that—a cake that looks like a tree. But what’s even more adorable is the initials of the bride and groom “carved” into the side! Don’t be shy to check out some more of these wonderful ideas!

There you have it, folks! Check back in next week for some more wild wedding news! We hope you stay warm and endure the “supposedly” coming snow storm. Have a question? A story of your own to share? Leave it below!

Well wouldn’t you know it, Seattle finally got some snow! Which means, for anybody who lives here, that the city is pretty much shut down. It’s bad enough when it rains and people drive like maniacs, but when it snows, only the brave and capable should be out on the road. So while cars are slip-sliding all around the city, it’s time to get back into some weird and wild wedding news! This time around we’ve got more celebrity weddings, a touching reminder of a failed marriage and yes, you guessed it, cake to top it all off. Let’s get to it!

https://www.etonline.com/gwyneth-paltrow-hangs-a-christmas-stocking-for-ex-chris-martin-116182?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20181221.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

We were all deeply saddened when Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow ended their marriage back in 2014. Already re-married to Brad Falchuk (just this past September, actually), Gwyneth posted a photo on Instagram around Christmas time showing off her fireplace and stockings. There’s Brad, Gwyneth, Apple and Moses, but the noticeable inclusion is former hubbie Chris, who gets his own between their two two kids.

It might not be much, or leave you with a sense of warmth and happiness, but they are definitely getting along and remind us why they were so wonderful together in the first place!

https://people.com/tv/jensen-arnold-marries-high-school-sweetheart-winter-wedding/?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190101.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

This wedding seems pretty timely as we’re in the midst of a snowstorm! Only two days after Christmas, So You Think You Can Dance finalist, Jensen Arnold, got hitched to her highschool sweetheart, Topher Hill. On a not-so-typical Thursday, the two met at the Salt Lake City Temple in Utah for their big day. Older sister Lindsay Arnold served as matron of honor and the bridesmaids rocked some lovely burgundy dresses.

Blanketed with snow, the pictures are marvelous. Though, they certainly make you want to grab for a coat. The ceremony was followed up by a reception at the Sleepy Ridge in Orem. Congrats to the newlyweds!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2018/12/27/hierarchy-celebrity-wedding-publicity-mileys-secret-ceremony-bachelor-party-sponsorships/?utm_term=.753675cfb45d

Aside from being a brilliant newspaper, the Washington Post also just published a great article on the “hierarchy” of celebrity weddings. Using the secretive Cyrus-Hemsworth wedding (their wedding was held during a holiday week with no warning) as a jumping-off point, they also mention Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough’s wedding before moving on to the Kloss/Kushner wedding which pretty much stuck to the same idea.

But then they move onto the more extravagant affairs, like the recent Jonas/Chopra wedding that featured sponsorship. Check out the article for more of what makes up the hierarchy!

https://www.vogue.com.au/brides/trends/are-these-the-most-ott-cake-trends-of-2018/image-gallery/bb5ce168fae2b4b082d1ac30743f615c?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190101.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign&pos=2

The time, care and artistry that goes into making a wedding cake is astounding–and the culture behind the cakes themselves is a little overwhelming. This article from Vogue takes a critical look at some of the trends from 2018 that we could do without in 2019, and certainly raises a few eyebrows at the same time.

Take for instance the “Wonky Cakes,” which look like someone got drunk, knocked your cake over, and reassembled it like Jenga. The article says “we get what you’re trying to do here,” but do they really? I mean sure it’s cutesy, but at a moment’s glance it just looks…wrong. Dig into the article for some more weird cakes!

Welcome back everyone! Is every surviving the #snowmageddon outside? We got dumped on quite a bit overnight and are enjoying the beauty snowy sights from INSIDE! We’re glad to share some more stories with you from the weird world of weddings. This time around we’ve got cake, lost rings, some blood-boiling material and seriously sweet seniors. Buckle up, let’s ride!

https://www.businessinsider.com/worst-wedding-cake-horror-stories-2019-1?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190104.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign#the-statue-topper-was-way-too-big-1

We usually save cake for last, and don’t worry we will, but the first of two cake articles is actually a compilation of “wedding cake horror stories.” Brought to you by Business Insider, these stories will make you feel fortunate you got through your cake cutting with not only just the cake intact, but also your body and marriage.

The first story will have many of us who have worked customer service to chuckle and feel the exasperation. A wedding coordinator, just moments before the wedding started, was handed a rather large porcelain figurine (she estimates it weighed about three pounds) by the mother of the bride and asked to place it on to top the cake. Glancing over at the “petite cake,” the coordinator kne for certain placing the figuring on the cake would be a mistake, so she placed it off to the side.

Well, the mother of the bride was none too pleased, so she picked it up and placed it on the cake. Sure enough, just a few moments later, there was the sound of glass breaking. You can probably guess exactly what happened. Be sure to check out the other stories! They’re a hoot!

https://www.aol.com/article/news/2019/01/03/woman-finds-lost-wedding-ring-in-christmas-present/23632947/?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190104.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

The holidays are a rather stressful time, would you not agree? Add on top of the cooking, shopping, preparation for those beloved in-laws, and everything else…losing your wedding ring…and then imagine how cheerful your holiday spirits are.

This happened to Joann Johnson, who lost her ring while shopping at walmart over at Port Orchard, our neighbor to the west.

It also happened to be her twentieth anniversary.

Well, the ring was found, but the story will surprise you. Shiloah Avery, opening up her brand new instant pot, found a bonus gift inside, too. A wedding ring.

Being a good samaritan, Shiloah immediately went to social media, only for it to come across Joann’s page. And wouldn’t you know it, she was able to get her ring back on Christmas day! TAlk about Christmas miracles! Be sure to check out the video for the full story and the moment she received her ring back!

https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/bride-angry-at-pregnant-bridesmaid?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190104.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

And now comes the time of week where we have to make your blood boil a little bit–but isn’t that natural when it comes to weddings? Get ready, this one is a doozy.

Originating from none other than Reddit, a bride posted, “long story short, I just found out that one of my bridesmaids will be 5-6 months pregnant on my wedding day.” Great, wonderful, happy news right? Surely since it’s her bridesmaid, she must be close, so she must be happy for her, right?

Wrong, because the bride follows up with, “This bridesmaid was also planning my super secret bachelorette party that I know no details of, but I’m assuming involved drinking that will probably either be changed or cancels.” Hold up, you think that because your bridesmaid can’t drink, she’ll put everyone else on the same prohibition? Come on.

There’s more, “Maybe I’m just thinking the worst here. But personally I think it’s wrong to get pregnant when you’re part of the bridal party and not tell the bride.” Hmm, yeah, nobody is really going to side with you on this one.

Reddit didn’t side with her either, with many calling her selfish and rude for not supporting her friend like she is her…by being her bridesmaid. Get over it, lady, there’s bigger fish to fry!

https://www.brides.com/story/husband-surprises-wife-67-years-new-engagement-ring?utm_medium=40digest.prsonly.20190104.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

https://6abc.com/society/man-surprises-wife-of-67-years-with-new-engagement-ring/5003623/

This one will surely warm your heart after your blood has been boiling, because this is a wonderfully happy story. After being married for 67 years, a wife and her husband had moved to a nursing home. Recently, the wife had fallen, injuring her hand and preventing her from wearing her beloved engagement ring.

So she stashed them away, only to have them suddenly go missing. Luckily, she was married to the ultimate catch of a guy. So he went along with his daughter and picked out some new rings for his wife. Just before Christmas, he presented her with the rings and in a tear-jerking video, well, you can probably guess there were quite a few tears…happy ones, to be exact.

https://www.ndtv.com/offbeat/watch-when-bill-gates-instantly-calculated-how-to-cut-his-wedding-cake-into-equal-slices-1971895

I told you we would finish with cake! And with a local legend, too. Yes, you are reading that right: this is about Bill and Melinda Gates’ wedding back in 1994.

On their 25th anniversary, Melinda shared a humorous video to Facebook that was taken at their wedding, with a caption, “We told you it was time to cut the cake. You thought that meant you needed to cut a slice for everyone and did some astonishingly quick math to calculate exactly how big…”

She also happened to “forget” that the middle was made of cardboard, so be sure to check out the hilarious video from one of the dorkiest rich guys on the planet.

Are you staying warm? Did you miss us?? We had a feeling, so we are back with some more crazy wedding news to take you away from all the messy political stuff and the Super Bowl whirlwind. Don’t worry, our stories can be equally as weird and wild, like heists, eye-color changes, and plenty of burgers. Yep, these are all wedding stories, so buckle in and get ready for the ride.

https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/texas-couple-brings-wedding-party-to-whataburger-stages-second-ceremony-inside-restaurant

Weddings can be pretty draining, especially when you’re the bride, groom or part of the bridal party. Near the end of their wedding day, Jordan and Arianne Moore, as well as some of their friends, were still feeling pretty hungry. Once the rest of the party was wrapped up, they decided to hop on down to the local Whataburger for some grub.

The thing is: they didn’t have time to change their clothes. So they strolled on in with all of their wedding attire still on, only to have the restaurant play along. Take a look at the video of the two “walking down the aisle,” and note that the restaurant even gave them a lovely card. The bride’s sister posted the news to the internet and Twitter in hopes of scoring the newlyweds free burgers for a year–now that would have been a wedding present!

https://wkdd.iheart.com/featured/keith-and-tony/content/2019-01-16-bride-makes-bridesmaids-change-their-color-because-of-her-dress/?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190118.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

Now we have had a lot of very disturbing stories come out lately about ridiculous bridezillas who supply their bridal parties with horrible tasks, unrealistic monetary requests, and sometimes lists of rules.

This new one fits right in, if not then it’s even weirder than you would want to believe. Recently, a woman posted on Facebook inquiring about a rather curious request: would it be alright to have her bridesmaids wear colored contacts so as to not “clash with her dress.”

That’s right: this lady wants her party to wear colored contacts to make sure their little eyes don’t match or clash with her dress. But don’t you worry: she promises to pay for any color…except blue. Check out the article for a few more bridezillas and dress mishaps!

https://www.eater.com/2019/1/16/18185132/white-castle-valentines-day-dinner-reservations

Well, this one is not entirely wedding related (though there certainly have been weddings involved before) but White Castle is now taking reservations for Valentine’s Day. We aren’t blessed with a chain up here (if you’re desperate, you can find their stuff in the frozen section) but it’s nice to think about all the happy couples making their way in for some burgers and fries.

You can find a full list of the restaurants allowing for reservations on Valentine’s Day through the link above, though the drive/flight probably won’t be worth it as you’re looking at Minnesota or Chicago for the closest branch.

Our final story this time focuses on the wedding of Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham. After proposing to Becca on The Bachelor, Arie shortly broke up with her and started pursuing the runner up, Lauren. Well, they are officially married and with it comes some stories about their ceremony.

Held in Hawaii just a few weeks ago, their wedding was actually a hugely inspired by…Twilight. Specifically Breaking Dawn. Now, most of us were done with Twilight about 8 years ago, but for whatever reason it keeps coming back. Nonetheless, in the case of this wedding, it worked in spades. Their lovely ceremony, surrounded by trees, adorable wooden chairs and all of their friends and family, was not without emotions as Ari immediately burst into tears when his bride approached. The two tied the knot and have been utterly ecstatic ever since! Congratulations!

Gaston Wedding on 1/19/19 at The Kelley Farm in Bonney Lake, Wa

Music licensed from –
Song Freedom – songfreedom.com

It has certainly been a chilly winter up here in the Pacific Northwest, though we don’t really have much room to complain this week when a good portion of the country is literally colder than Antarctica. A few weeks ago we made our way over to Bonney Lake, and specifically to Kelley Farm for the Gaston wedding. While we were blessed with a dry day, it didn’t help with the cold. Luckily, Kelley Farm is ready for whatever need with multiple ceremony locations (yes, there’s indoor ones for days just like this, and heated floors). Offering up several catering partners, enough space for more than three hundred people, and a curfew of midnight, The Kelley Farm really wants you to eat up and party the night away!

The Gastons were greeted with gray skies for their wedding, but some warming spirits were nearby to take away the biting cold. Looking especially dapper in grey suits with maroon vests and ties, the boys had some fun…horsing…around in front of the barn while the ladies were a little calmer in their warm dressing rooms. Once the room was just about bursting with excitement for the big day, it was time for the first look!

Greeting her groom outside the barn, the first look was so sweet. That wonderful mix of nervous and excited let the bashfulness shine through. We were able to walk around the farm with them as they posed along with the rustic setting, green trees and soothing gray skies. Eventually gathering again in front of the barn, this time with the rest of the bridal party, we got some wide shots of the massive group.

Soon enough, though probably not soon enough for the bride and groom, it was time for the wedding. As everyone filled the impressive wood barn, with twinkling lights and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, the groom could hardly contain himself–especially when he saw his bride approaching.

Try to get through the vows and speeches read by their loved ones without crying–we dare you. A loving, spiritual ceremony saw the tying of the knot for Andrea and Jeffrey, and there was hardly a dry eye to be seen, especially for the bride and groom. With the magic words spoken by the officiant, there was only really one thing left to do: kiss and become husband and wife.

After a dip that probably gave Andrea whiplash, the newlyweds left the ceremony hall with their namesake song…from none other than Beauty and the Beast (hopefully it didn’t take you this long to recognize the name!)

The reception to follow was the cap to a spectacular day. Silly props for the photo booth provided plenty of smiles (though there were already plenty), as did the dozens of cupcakes. Eating turned into dancing, and then in the blink of an eye the night was over and it was time to head home.

Congratulations to Andrea and Jeffrey on your wedding and thank you again for choosing Best Made Videos® to film it! We hope the first few weeks have gone magically.

How did you guys meet?

Andrea took her brother out to a bar to celebrate his 21st birthday, albeit a little late, and to be his wingman. Jeff just so happened to go out to that same bar that night to hang out with friends. He was standing by the dance floor talking to people and he looked over Andrea’s direction several times and would smile at her. Though she had already noticed and would smile back, Andrea’s brother, Jacob, noticed that he kept smiling as well, and said loudly (so that Jeff heard) “Sis, that guy keeps smiling at you.” Andrea was pretty much obligated to talk to Jeff at that point, since he was standing there chuckling about what had just happened. From that moment on, Jeff never stopped talking to her and they fell madly in love.

Tell us about the proposal!

On February 19, 2018, Andrea and Jeff had decided that they wanted to do a family day. The activity that Jeff suggested was to go and paint ceramics in Gig Harbor down by the water. Jeff wanted everyone to dress up and he made Andrea change out of her comfy clothes and into something fancier. Andrea thought it was weird, but Jeff used Andrea’s love of taking pictures together as his reasoning. Jeff got Andrea’s friend Alisa to come along with her children and they all hung out and painted different ceramics. Jeff seemed quieter than normal and very antsy. As they were finishing up, Andrea’s parents called her, asking if they wanted to go to lunch. After Andrea agreed, Jeff told her that they first had to go to a look out point in the harbor to take their family picture first. What Andrea didn’t know is that Jeff had already asked her parents to meet them up at the lookout point and to put flowers on a bench that said “Andrea, For making me a Happy Man. Turn Around”. And there, as Andrea turned around while surrounded by her family, Jeffrey was already on one knee, holding open a box with a beautiful ring inside!

Why did you choose your venue?

We wanted a winter rustic wedding, and the barn at Kelley Farm was perfect! From the twinkly lights outside the barn to the beautiful chandeliers on the inside, and the huge barn doors, The Kelley Farm brought the perfect mixture of rustic elegance.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

The First Look and the groom’s face as the barn doors open.

We are in full effect of the Seattle Squeeze, rain is in the forecast, and if that doesn’t sound like Winter in Seattle to you, well, I don’t know what will. We are here to fend off the gray, monotonous commutes and dreary weather with weird and wild wedding stories. We have a big focus on the secret wedding of Miley Cyrus and Chris Hemsworth this week, as well as some riviteting wedding showdowns and a dazzling, unicorn-styled wedding. Ready for some fun?

https://www.ocregister.com/2018/12/25/christina-el-moussa-and-ant-anstead-marry-in-surprise-newport-beach-wedding/

A surprise wedding saw the marriage of Christina El Moussa and Ant Anstead, two television hosts, after a whirlwind love affair that lasted only a year before the big day. Host of Flip or Flop, Christina divorced her former partner and co-host Tarek El Moussa back in January, and entered into a relationship with Ant, the host of Wheeler Dealers.

Their guests arrived under the impression that they would be going to the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, but instead got a front yard wedding. Christina announced she would be changing her name–and that she has a new show coming called Christina on the Coast. Congrats to the newlyweds!

This one is quite the doozy of a story. We all have exes, and chances are they probably won’t be invited to our weddings. Well, one ex did decide to show up to a wedding, obviously without an invitation, and proceeded to create quite the ruckus.

Coming from the point of view of the Donut Shop owner who essentially saved the day, this one will make you feel a bit of rage. Apparently, one day he received an urgent call just before closing. Making an exception for the customer who pleaded to come in, they came and pretty much cleared them out of their donuts. Writing “Congrats” on some eclairs, he makes the sale and the lady goes on her way. A while later, after the honeymoon, the newlyweds came in to tell the story of how the groom’s ex invaded the wedding after learning her ex was to be wed. She burst in, grabbed the cake, and threw it at the newlyweds. She then proceeded to smash wine bottles on the floor before the police came and charged her with assault, destruction of private property and more. All in all, the wedding turned out superb, and left the owner feeling as happy as the newlyweds!

Tired of the same old wedding designs? Want something to bring a touch of magical, happy clouds and rainbows? Take a look at this wedding shoot that is described as a “sparkly unicorn in a field of horses.” From designer Jade of Let’s Bee Together, it features, well, a rainbow of colors, dazzling makeup and all comes together with some lovely soft, pink tones. Though it might not be everyone’s flavor, for those wanting something a little different this is surely right up your alley!

The wedding dress, for some, is the most crucial aspect of the big day–I mean, they even make shows and movies just about the dress–so naturally there’s a rather large premium on dresses and some go for thousands of dollars. Fans of Say Yes to the Dress should immediately recognize Kleinfeld, the show’s home-base.

Just a few weeks ago, they opened (and have already closed) a temporary pop-up show that brought in 1,500 different styles of wedding dresses at remarkably low prices. We’re talking going from $15,00-$20,000 all the way down to less than $1,000! Now that’s just insane. Too bad the deals are gone, but boy oh boy what savings!

We’re capping this week off with a dive into the biggest wedding of the last month! After what seemed like too-many years, a rough relationship, and some near-misses, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth finally got married in a secret ceremony at right before Christmas, almost a decade after meeting on the set of The Last Song.

In their small, private ceremony which saw the arrival of the Hemsworths (Chris included), Billy Ray and more, the two kept things sweet, fun and family-oriented. Take a look at the Popsugar article for some fun photos of Thor doing shots, Miley and Liam kissing, and the united families cutting the cake.

Elite Daily writer Bella Gerard dug into the importance of Miley’s dress, as like we have come to know her, her style isn’t exactly what would be considered conventional. Yet, she went for a lovely white dress above anything else.

Designed by Vivienne Westwood, known for bringing modern-punk looks into mainstream fashion, Gerard describes it as “ivory silk satin, with an off-the-shoulder neckline and a draped, corseted bodice.” Costing an estimated $8,600, she certainly did not buy it from the previous article!

The last article discusses the cake, a centerpiece of almost any wedding. After a year of some crazy cakes, like the eighteen-foot-tall behemoth from the Jonas/Chopra wedding, Miley and Liam’s was, well, pretty normal just like her dress. The author of the article digs into this same notion too. The last decade has shown us that Miley wanted nothing more to break free from her childhood star roots and make a name for herself. It seems like she did that, doing exactly what she wants and not sticking to any presumptions about her. Congrats to the happy couple!

With Seattle in a bit of a craze due to Carmageddon caused by the “Seattle Squeeze,” it’s about that time to help take your mind of the stresses of an overly-long commute with some great new stories from the world of weddings! This week we’ve got blindfolds, roller skates, a trip to India and more! Let us get down to it!

https://www.kansascity.com/news/nation-world/article222359565.html

The world has been taken by storm by Netflix’s new horror film, Bird Box. Sort of a riff on A Quiet Place, characters must survive in a world blindfolded due to monsters being able to possess you through exposed eyes or something. Sounds crazy, but it’s their most watched movie now–even still, this story pre-dates the movie, though it will certainly be repeated from now on as most young kids these days are trying their own “Bird Box” challenges with disastrous results.

Stephanie Agnew had lost her site about five years ago, and on her wedding day she wanted everyone else to experience the wedding as she was about to. So she asked them to wear blindfolds. Universally supported, it went off without a hitch and helped provide a really unique atmosphere for the wedding!

You want to talk about big weddings? One of the biggest of 2018 was held about a month ago in India and saw the marriage of Isha and Mukesh Ambani (thought to be the richest man in India). A lakeside Italian palace served as the host for the engagement party back in September, but the pre-wedding parties saw thousands of people arrive including Hillary Clinton, Beyonce and more.

If you were thinking that that was all the celebrating to be done, you’re wrong. More parties followed, as did the guests. Remember Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding not too long ago? We don’t either after this!

Think you had a pretty cool first dance at your wedding? I’m sure it was choreographed, timed and practiced to no end. But I have one question to ask: did you do it on roller skates?

I bet about 99.9% of you answered “no,” because none of you would want to imagine eating dirt after face-planting on your wedding day.

Chrissy Mitchell and her dad decided that they would do something really special for their dance after she got married to Kevin. Having skated for most of her life, it was a mutual bond she had with her dad, making perfect sense to break out the wheels for their big dance. Be sure to check out the pictures and videos in the article!

The final story this week brings the laughs and snickers with a hilarious photoshoot. If you have ever been in a siblings wedding, or even seen them date, you’re likely to want to give them some flak, roll your eyes when they kiss, or, like Elena did, prank her brother during their wedding photos.

The picture does all the work: Elena, whose younger brother Chris had just wed Lucy, decided to make a bit of a face…the face we all make when our siblings do something gross. The picture is worth a million bucks as the newlyweds embrace in a kiss while Elena…looks sour. Don’t worry, it has garnered a lot of publicity and shortly after the shot Elena went back to being on her best behavior for her little bro!

And that is it for this week! Thank you for stopping by, even if you were forced to because of the Seattle Squeeze. Have any stories of your own to share? We would love to have them!

Sheridan Wedding on 12/21/18 at Mountain Springs Lodge in Leavenworth, Wa

“We love it!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!”

Located near the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, and nestled right in the Cascade Mountains, Mountain Springs Lodge is a stunningly gorgeous venue that takes quite a bit of time to get to–but it undoubtedly proves worth the wait! With dozens of local suggestions for cakes, florists, photographers and more, the Lodge also aims to source all of the food locally too. Worried about booze? They have got you covered on that too! No minimum order required!

Just four days before Christmas, the Sheridans wed up in the frigid cold mountains. Blanketed in snow and decked out for the holidays, the lodge looked so warm and inviting after a the long drive up into the white-capped mountains. A morning of keeping warm by sipping champagne and staying away from the snow allowed for a rather chilly first look outside.

We’re not quite sure where Allysa got the fortitude to stand outside in the wintery weather for their epic, snowy first look, but sure enough she trekked her way through the snow, sleeveless and all, to meet her groom. It was cold even for us, and we had jackets and boots!

I hate to say it, but this really was a white wedding with the stark white dress out amongst the soft, delicate snow. If that wasn’t cold enough for you, we were right on the shores of a lake with the wind whipping through the area. I’m getting shivers just watching the footage! But boy, what a beautiful location for a first look, accentuated perfectly by our soaring drone footage.

Soon the rest of the party headed outside. The boys looked warm but the snow proved a little tough to maintain a footing in. Even with fiery red dresses the ladies looked a little chilly, and there’s really no blaming them! Luckily, it was time to get married!

Inside in a vastly warmer ceremony space, the bride and groom met to be married with a nice big hearth staring at them from the other end of the aisle. The intimate space had Christmas trees, draped lights and more for a wholly magical ceremony.

The magic didn’t stop there, as the officiant finally declared the spell so to speak, and allowed the bride and groom to kiss, officially becoming husband and wife. But wait, there’s more! Following their ceremony, the newlyweds and pals headed outside for a sleigh ride through the winter wonderland!

Everyone else retired for some liquid warmth, patiently waiting in the cozy lodge for the return of the newlyweds for the reception. Once they arrived, the ceremony space was splendidly transformed into the reception area and soon the partying began. Cake and dancing prompted everyone to join in on the fun and keeping up the heat.

Thank you again to Allysa and Jake for picking Best Made Videos® to film their wedding! We hope your first month of marriage has been full of love and warmth! Have any questions or comments? Did you traipse through the snow on your wedding day? Let us know below!
