Welcome everyone it’s time to get happy and excited with bizarre wedding news! This week won’t have nearly as many twists as everything else going on in pop culture, but hopefully it’s enough to keep you satiated until the final Game of Thrones episode or new Spider-Man movie with potential villains, throwbacks and more!

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/couple-slam-backlash-crowdfunding-wedding-money-grabbing-people

Crowdfunding has become quite popular in recent days. Whether it is for a dream come true, helping out with medical costs or, yes, by trying to get funds to build that Mexico wall…you can assist hundreds of people with your wallet. So it would make sense that people are now using it for their weddings…with some unexpected consequences.

A little while ago, a British couple discovered they were well short of their desired budget for their big wedding. After saving for over a year, they still needed $5,800. So they made a GoFundMe page and started asking for donations instead of presents. In three weeks, they put a decent dent in their goal…but then they got publicized by local media which sent things into a tailspin resulting in online criticisms and backlash. But you’ll have to check the article to see what really happens!

Some celebrity weddings just don’t seem to die down, and this week we’re back focusing on the Cyrus/Hemsworth event back in December! We have two stories about the wedding to go over, so let’s start with the attire. Knowing Miley, we know she isn’t the most conventional person, so it would make sense that her original wedding did not feature a Vivienne Westwood gown and all that other fanciness. Rather, she wanted some of life’s simple pleasures: to wear a hoodie and leggings down the aisle, and to grub on vegan chicken and dumplings. Alas, they opted for the fancy route and I think they chose quite nicely!

Next up: the name! When it comes to celebrity weddings, for the sake of recognizability or otherwise, most celebs don’t take the name of their spouse. Miley Cyrus, however, is now Miley Ray Hemsworth. Hubby Liam Hemsworth explained in an interview that Miley came up with the idea on her own, and suggested it to Liam before their wedding. Check out the article for some more married-life updates!

Katie Couric had quite the breaking news story back in February: her daughter Ellie Monahan got engaged! The 27-year-old is now engaged to Mark, and the proposal even comes with some sentimentality. When Mark dropped to the knee, he used the ring that Ellie’s late father had used to propose to Katie back in the 90s. Obviously very excited, Katie’s Instagram post is mostly composed of a dozen “OMGs.” We can’t wait for the wedding!

This next article is going to call for some judgement on your part, so buckle in! We all know weddings cost a pretty penny. Especially the venues. And especially for weddings. One guy in Australia recognized that venues up the charge for an event if it is indeed a wedding. So, he simply told venues and caterers that he was having a “party.” Not the most grave lie to be told before a wedding, but a lie nonetheless.

The first mistake this guy made was lying, his second mistake was telling all of this to his ex-girlfriend, who had texted him to check on the updates for his big day. What did she do with this information? She screenshotted the texts and posted them to Facebook. Like with anything hitting the internet that causes even the most minor controversy, people voiced their angry opinions. The article does not give any updates on if the guy got to go through with his “party,” but we have to imagine all of his vendors were none too pleased.

Welcome back everyone. I apologize to pull you away from any Game of Thrones-related activity, whether it be fan theories or picking through each scene for clues as to how it will end. We’ll make this a quick one for you this time so you can get back to Westeros for the last few episodes. This week we’ve got fashion choices, silly bridal invites, some more Jonas Brother wedding news, and lastly…no Game of Thrones. So if that’s a deal breaker, this is your exit!

https://www.brides.com/story/couple-encouraged-guests-re-wear-wedding-dresses?utm_medium=40digest.7days3.20190206.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

You can certainly put this first story in a special category of “absolutely wonderful ideas.” Jesse and Audrey got married a few months ago, but their big day has some great lasting ramifications. What made their wedding so special has to do with the dress code they laid out for their guests, particularly the ladies, as explained by Jesse, “We thought it was sad that most women only get to wear their wedding dress once, so we invited all the women coming to our non-traditional wedding to wear their old wedding dresses again.”

Single ladies were invited to wear wedding dresses of relatives, or black and white, or even a costume. The bride herself wore a blue dress, so as to stand out from the dozen other wedding dresses. Be sure to check the article for all the pics!

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/bride-slammed-sending-stupid-offensive-13955153?utm_medium=40digest.7days3.20190206.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

It seems like each week there’s a story or two about brides who have made some questionable decisions. Often times these lead to the harsh label, “bridezilla.” This story probably won’t, but you will have to be the judge of that! Back in February, the Mirror posted an article about a rather weird bridesmaid proposal.

A picture shows a pregnancy test box with the words “I’m Late” across the top, and at the bottom, “asking…” Once it was opened a scroll reveals the words, “To be my bridesmaid.”

Yeah…pretty awkward. It didn’t exactly blow over well with the internet, but you’ll have to check the article to find out why!

https://www.thisisinsider.com/bridesmaids-in-blue-tuxedos-photos-2019-2?utm_medium=40digest.7days3.20190206.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

Another fun fashion article! This one was the wedding of Aaisha Thomas and Eureke Jones where Aaisha had her bridesmaids shed the traditional dress for something different and much, much sleeker. Instead of dresses, the four bridesmaids rocked royal blue tuxedos and heels for an eye-popping look! They matched up with the rest of the bridal party as well, so everyone was looking primo! The Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra already has made a number of headlines, and so will the wedding of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner (we will get to that when it happens, don’t you worry), but even more news is coming out about their remarkable wedding. This one is in regards to bridesmaid Elizabeth Chambers, who almost missed the big day!

Apparently, Elizabeth got to the airport only to realize she didn’t have the required travel visa to fly to India for the wedding. While the other bridesmaids found themselves a little irked, Priyanka kept her head and they were all able to get the right documents to Elizabeth in time for her to fly!

Welcome back everyone to another exciting week of weird wedding news! The flowers are starting to bloom, the pollen is caking cars and the sun is staying out even longer…which means it’s definitely time for everyone to start getting hitched! While we wait for some more love-birds to tie the knot, we want to keep you all entertained with some fresh updates on the wedding world! This week, we’ve got Meghan Trainor, the Duggars, weed, and Donald Trump (don’t worry, it’s about cake.) Let’s get down to it!

https://www.thisisinsider.com/daryl-sabara-meghan-trainor-dance-routine-wedding-video-2019-2

“All About That Bass” singer, Meghan Trainor, and Spy Kid Daryl Sabara got married back in December. There’s a whole lot to digest with that once sentence (Juni got married?! Did “Dear Future Husband” predict their marriage?) but for the sake of time we will keep our focus limited.

While Meghan is really the performer here, Daryl decided to give her a special show during their wedding. So he choreographed a dance, featuring three key songs “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “Pop! Goes My Heart,” and “Suit and Tie.” Be sure to check out the video in the article to see the wonderfully charming performance.

https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/the-real-reason-the-duggars-wait-to-have-their-first-kiss-until-their-wedding-day.html/

The dating world changes on almost a daily basis. Dozens of apps can set you up with your soulmate. Another dozen others can find you something a little shorter-term. But for those who remember the Duggar family of 19 Kids and Counting, then you might recall that they don’t do things like most people anymore. Meaning: they do not kiss until the wedding day.

The Duggars don’t “date,” they “court.” Now, some may those two things are identical, but the Duggars explain, “courtship is really waiting for the one God has for you and praying through the whole process.” The kids of the Duggars also must have a chaperone with their “potential spouse,” and all texts between them are monitored. On top of kissing there is no “hand holding or frontal hugging,” believing that this will “set a high standard and create a lasting partnership.”

So, what do you all think about this? Leave a thought in the comments below!

https://www.boston25news.com/news/looking-for-green-wedding-ideas-try-the-cannabis-wedding-expo/911483017

With more and more states legalizing recreational marijuana, it’s only natural that weed is making its way into your wedding day. Though the dates have already passed for any of this year’s expos, you can still be on the lookout for the Cannabis Wedding Expo in 2020. This year, the organization tried to make their way to Boston but has yet to have luck.

Yet for the pot connoisseurs or simply the hemp-lovers who love the material for their wedding dresses, there are so many reasons to check out the expo. Did you know you could get your own “marijuana floral arrangements,” or find a list of cannabis-friendly venues?” Well now you do! So much so in the past has alcohol been a key component of any wedding, so why not weed?

http://celebrityinsider.org/toni-braxton-reveals-she-and-birdman-almost-eloped-266720/

Singer Toni Braxton, star of Braxton Family Values, and rapper Birdman have had somewhat of a complicated relationship. Back in January, there were rumors that they had gotten secretly married after an Instagram post. However, just a few days ago, they both confirmed that they aren’t married but had indeed come close to being eloped.

A wedding is still in the works, though, as the couple is still engaged. Rumors had emerged that they had also broken up, but a source told Hollywood Life that, “they don’t know how the rumors started but embraced them because it adds the the drama of the show.” So, while we wait for them to actually tie the knot, we can hope that they are happy and are working towards their big day!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6664905/A-professional-bridesmaid-lifted-lid-craziest-bridezilla-requests-shes-received.html?

Another week and another Bridezilla story! This story comes with an interesting twist: this one has to do with a professional bridesmaid who has decided to dish on some of her favorite bridezilla stories. Earning $5k per client, this job already entails with putting up with quite a bit of weirdness. Weddings are chaotic as is, let alone when you have a bridezilla running rampant.

So you have to imagine she has some pretty wild stories, and she certainly does. On top of having to follow a bachelor party to Ibiza to spy on them, she has also been requested to help other bridesmaids lose weight and keep a diet. Not sure about you, but I would feel pretty rowdy if some random lady came in on a bridal party and started bossing everyone around.

It is an interesting prospect, though. She does get to play a sort of enforcer role, as well as be behind the scenes making sure everything goes just right. Could you do this job? Have any of your own bridezilla stories to tell? Let us know below!

https://www.bustle.com/p/donald-melania-trumps-wedding-cake-souvenir-is-apparently-up-for-auction-now-15924011?

We’ve seen a few wedding cakes hit the auction market over the last few months, especially with all the Royal Wedding hullabaloo we’ve been forced to endure, but now comes the cake of President Donald Trump. Dating back to 2005, the cake is old enough to be in high school now and has an estimated value of $1,500.

The original wedding cake was a “seven-tier behemoth” that cost a reported $50,000 and “weighed some 200 pounds.” It was also reported that “some people at the wedding weren’t able to eat the cake as it ‘contained too much wire for guests to consume.’” So on top of it being potentially inedible, it was also a huge cost. Which sounds about right for Mr. Trump. Still sound tasty?

Do you smell that in the air? That smell of flowers, pollen and the unforgettable scent of fresh rain on dry pavement. Spring is officially here and we are just so freaking happy about it. Warm weather means getting to go outside, see the pretty flowers…but most importantly it’s wedding season! Cue up the opening of Wedding Crashers and that’s pretty much how we’re feeling right now. Nevertheless, the weird world of wedding news still exists so we will continue to keep you informed while we go shoot some more weddings! Let’s get down to this week’s stories!

https://www.malaymail.com/news/life/2019/01/24/when-the-postman-crashes-a-wedding-to-deliver-a-package-video/1716047

Fasten your seatbelts everyone, we’re heading to Malaysia! Yeah, you heard that right (and yes, the weird world of weddings is this big!) We all are suckers for Amazon Prime free delivery. The thrill of getting any online delivery is up there with some the best things in life.

But what about literally during your wedding ceremony? Now, I’ve been excited for some packages before, but to have one interrupt a wedding might not go over so well. Peny, a Malaysian bride, was getting hitched when a postman arrived to make her sign for a package. Everyone turned a bright red, and they even invited him for some photos! Watch the video for the full hilarity!

https://www.dothaneagle.com/news/local/photographer-from-dothan-shoots-viral-wedding-video-that-sends-couple/article_c404fe2e-1ff5-11e9-805f-374ecac9358b.html

This one will hopefully thaw out the rest of those frozen hearts leftover from winter. An Alabama photographer shot a wedding with Mary Bourne Butts and her husband Jim a few months ago. What made it so special is the photographer was able to capture a poignant moment when Mary danced with her father who is wheelchair-bound.

The video garnered so much attention, that even Ellen DeGeneres caught wind of it and invited the newlyweds to the show where they received a $25,000 check from Cheerios. For more of the emotional details, click the link above…but be sure to bring tissues!

https://thebuzz.iheart.com/featured/the-rod-ryan-show/content/2019-02-01-podcast-crazy-bride-makes-bridesmaids-take-a-lie-detector-test/?utm_medium=40digest.7days3.20190202.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

This one is quite the tale, and is described by the host of the podcast as “next-level crazy.” Referring to a Facebook post leaked by a bridesmaid, this is just another one of those wonderful bridezilla stories. In it, the bride outlines a dress code for her bridesmaids, including specific colors for specific sized girls. Also, they had to spend at least $1,000 on their dresses.

But then once this post got out, the bride made all of her bridesmaids take a polygraph test. Not kidding whatsoever. For the full story, be sure to listen to the whole podcast!

https://www.myrecipes.com/news/costco-cheese-wedding-cake?utm_medium=40digest.7days3.20190202.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

You may remember an article from another Bizarre Wedding News that dug into some deals you can score by doing part of your wedding shopping at Costco. Well, I hate to say it…I mean, I really hate to say this: this article really takes…the cake.

With that all said and done, there is some real concern to be had here. Costco is now selling a wedding cake made entirely of cheese. Known as the Sid Wainer & Son Cheese Lover Artisan Wedding Cake…you can get it for the price of $440. What you get is approximately 24 lbs of cheese that can serve at least 100 people (maybe less depending on who you invite) and comes with, “Danish Blue, Murcia al Vino, Tuscan Sheep’s Cheese, and Brillat Savarin Triple Cream Brie.” If you hadn’t heard of most of those you aren’t alone…but for almost $500 you can taste them all yourself!

https://www.brides.com/story/david-tutera-wedding-dresses

The name Tutera might sound familiar to you, and if you’ve been reading our Bizarre Wedding News over the last few weeks, that’s exactly where you heard it. Being a celebrity wedding planner, he usually always makes our lists. Last time was because he welcomed a new daughter with his partner. But now he is also launching his own bridal collection.

Called “David Tutera Bridal,” the line of “custom wedding dresses” was launched at the end of January. The already prolific designer and planner has detailed the pricing, and before you have a heart attack, note that these are all “custom and couture.” You can pick up one of these gowns for as low as $4,800 or as much as close to $10k. Wedding dresses are utterly important, so would you pull the trigger on one of these?

https://www.thisisinsider.com/celebrity-wedding-dresses-2019-1#gwen-stefani-went-for-hot-pink-dip-dye-2

Celebrities are always doing something crazy when it comes to weddings. Swords, animals, week-long celebrations and more have dotted our Bizarre Wedding News dozens of times. This article from Insider goes in-depth with all of the crazy wedding dresses celebrities have rocked on their wedding day. And some of them really are crazy.

A long, long time ago, Shakespeare fanboy and Harry Potter star Kenneth Branagh was married to another Harry Potter legend, Emma Thompson. Her dress, though, is a sight to behold. Dropping just past the knee and chock-full of a bevy of colors, she looked utterly adorable in their 1989 wedding.

On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, you have Baywatch alum Pamela Anderson who got married in pretty much the exact manner you would expect her to. In a white string bikini. Oh, and she did it twice.

Of course you also have the amazing Vivienne Westwood dress for Dita Von Teese’s wedding to Marilyn Manson. The “iridescent violet” gown is described as, “the 18th century and the 22nd century had a baby.” From the looks of it, that sounds pretty darn accurate.

Welcome everyone to another edition of Bizarre Wedding News! Wedding season is almost here and we are so very excited. We’ve got for great stories coming to you this week, and one in particular is going to be of interest to all of you Costco shoppers out there hoping to cut costs on weddings! Without any further ado, let’s get cracking!

https://5newsonline.com/2019/01/29/oklahoma-man-finds-lost-wedding-ring-during-run/?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190130.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

We see so many stories about people losing wedding rings and it just breaks out hearts! This week is a little different: we found one where a ring has been found but the owner is still at large! While on a jog around his neighborhood, Oklahoma man John Daum noticed something shiny on the ground. It wasn’t gold or anything, but black and metallic. It was a wedding band.

Doing his due diligence, Daum posted about it to social media but came up with zero leads. His next step? Turning to the local news to help try and track it down. He described it as having “two cuts in it. This is roughed up, not shiny in the center, but just two rings around it.” There is also an inscription on the inside that will be used to test and make sure the claimant is actually the true owner! Best of luck!

https://www.southernliving.com/news/costco-shopping-tips-wedding?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190129.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

Who doesn’t love Costco? From the free samples, to the pizza, chicken, booze, meats and bulk-sized toilet paper, it has it all. Southern Living realized this and wondered what you could get for your wedding day on the cheap and plentiful. The answer is quite a bit.

First and foremost: Wine. From their own name-brand wine to some of the more fancy European and Oceanic blends, there’s hundreds of bottles to choose from. With wine, then natural next step is snacks. If you’ve ever perused their snack section, you know it to be utterly overwhelming, especially when they always happen to have stuff you’ve never heard of!

They close off the list with a healthy tip for your feet: buy your insoles at Costco! Be sure to check out the article for the other purchases you should make in bulk!

https://www.news4jax.com/consumer/months-later-bride-still-without-wedding-video

We have to transition to some more upsetting news, now. Sandra Pryor, a Jacksonville bride, got married about a year ago at this point. Congratulations, right? Definitely! But she’s been desperately waiting for one key item: the video she paid thousands of dollars for. That’s right, Pryor does not have the video from her wedding day.

The company in question, CollabCreation Films, is rightfully sketchy. As of January, it was “permanently closed” according to Google. Apparently paying close to $3k for the video, she has never heard anything back a Mr. Kevin Remington. But the news station down there has, with an email supposedly from Remington himself claiming “we are working diligently to rectify any situation that is outstanding.”

Crazy, right? Here’s to hoping things get resolved!

https://www.brides.com/story/wedding-fail-tweets?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190130.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

Our final story will hopefully make up for the sadness of the last because it features a few hilarious tweets about weddings. Using the hashtag, WeddingFail, Brides.com tracked down some of the funniest tweets about…you guessed it…wedding fails. One was just a series of unfortunate events from Emily Winslow Sigler, “my wedding day was perfect…Except for the fact that I ripped my dress, stepped on broken glass and dislocated my knee at the reception.”

Another one, likely to happen to all of us who aren’t good at public speaking, comes from Kelly Thornhill, “My husband said, “to love, honor and PERISH” instead of cherish! The judge gave him a do over!” Luckily they got the mulligan!

Welcome everyone! The weather is no longer so freaking frigid, the sun is peeking out more, and wouldn’t you know it, but wedding season is coming up! We’re feeling pretty excited about all that and so should you. After a dreadful winter, it’s about time for some fun in the sun and wedding celebrations! This week we’ve got a few quick stories to tide you over until we get really going with the new weddings! Get ready, here we go.

https://www.eonline.com/news/1005510/chris-pratt-and-katherine-schwarzenegger-have-already-started-planning-their-wedding

We were all saddened by the breakup of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, one of the few Hollywood couples we rooted for to last (good thing there’s still Dax and Kristen,) but now Chris is engaged to the daughter of the Terminator himself: Katherine Schwarzenegger. Engaged for a few months now, the couple have moved fast and furiously, citing their faith as one of the reasons they have been so blissfully happy. So far, they have decided on a summer wedding, perhaps in California where Katherine’s father was the Governator as well.

Alas, we Washingtonians can be a little sad that Chris won’t be tying the knot up in Lake Stevens…but if they end up changing their minds, we’re throwing our hat into the ring to shoot it!

https://www.vogue.com/article/priyanka-chopra-and-nick-jonas-north-carolina-wedding-reception?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190129.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

If you think the partying doesn’t stop for the Jonas Brothers, you’re absolutely right. At least, that’s what this article goes on to state as Priyanka and Nick have had yet another reception, now stateside. What was one of the most storied weddings we’ve heard of in a while, just keeps on going. Holding it at Nellie’s Southern Kitchen (owned, by you guessed it, the Jonas family), they gorged on chicken and dumplings, fried catfish and more.

On top of already hitting up multiple honeymoon locations, these two are having quite the time as married couple. Who knows what’s in store for their six-month anniversary!?

https://www.popsugar.co.uk/love/Forgotten-Wedding-Expenses-45638486?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190129.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

I hate to do this to you, but now we have to talk about money–particularly what you’re spending on things for your wedding that really add up without you realizing! Starting out with the small things: consider the stamp that goes on all your invitations (and thank-you cards), that’s going to add up quite fast depending on the size of wedding. Sure you could opt for emails, but this isn’t some office party you’re inviting everyone to!

Wedding cake tasting is also a sneaky cost, depending on your baker and how many samples you go through. Oh, and if you’re making your own website for your big day, don’t forget about having to buy a domain name for the duration of your engagement! Check out the article for even more hidden costs!

https://hellogiggles.com/news/justin-bieber-hailey-baldwin-wedding/

Justin Bieber has really ebbed and flowed in the eyes of the general public. Pop sensation, annoying teenager, silly shenanigans and now he is married! Remember the time we tried to deport him?

Justin and Haley Bieber got hitched way back in September in a simple courthouse wedding. But as of January, they were still thinking about hosting a big celebration for family and friends who didn’t get to celebrate the marriage itself. Except, it has been continually pushed back to as far as this month.

So far there hasn’t been much word, but just the other day Justin came out to announce that he is taking a bit of a break from producing music to focus on his marriage and (based on some pics from around the internet) a supposed baby on the way! Here’s to hoping they are both happy and enjoying married life!

Flom Wedding on 2/23/18 at Mountain Springs Lodge in Leavenworth, Wa

Best Made Videos was great and easy to work with. Answered all of my questions and tailored my videos to exactly what I wanted. The day was a whirlwind for me so it was so nice to watch the beautiful highlight video and see details I missed. I highly recommend Reid and his team! I am so so happy to have these wonderful videos!”

Winter weddings can be tough here in the Pacific Northwest. On top of it already likely to be raining, this last year in particular also saw us inundated with an absurd amount of that fluffy white stuff that falls from the sky. At even the slightest whiff of snow, mass panic spreads throughout the reason and you best bet you want to avoid any roads…especially with hills. But at the same time, there’s nothing quite like a beautiful lodge such Mountain Springs blanketed in that fluffy snow. That’s what the Floms got on their wedding day.

Make no mistake, it was cold. The drone footage shows off a frozen pond and a winter wonderland for Sarah and Caleb to tie the knot in…literally. Seldom do we have outdoor weddings in the winter. Seldom do we actually have the bride and groom standing in the snow itself. But seldom do we meet families like the Floms, so we’re always willing cross things off our bucket list!

Staying inside the wood lodge for as long as possible, while also sipping away at whiskey, the morning flew by before it was time to head on out into the cold air for the first look. Looking regal in his uniform, Caleb waited for his bride on a snowy road, complete with a dusted wooden fence. Trying their best to look warm and cozy (while we were shivering ourselves), we had them walk around the area that feels like it would be thousands of miles from Seattle.

Not the have anyone else left out of the frigid fun, we got the rest of the party out for some group shots. As the snow started to whizz around, we headed back for a bit of a reprieve to let the snow die down. Soon enough it was time to hop in the sleigh…yes, you read that right…and head off to the wedding. Standing against the frozen pond, with the sleighs zipping across the fields behind them, it was really an unforgettable sight.

Once all was said and done, and following some lovely vows, the lovebirds finally got permission to kiss. So they did, and they all piled back into the sleigh for some warmer abodes. After we got inside, it was finally time to sign the paperwork to make this thing really official. A fire raging, tables set and the drinks flowing greeted the guests before the arrival of the newlyweds.

Delicious food warmed us even more, and soon it was time to open up the dance floor for a night of celebration. After the purple lights came on, and everyone got to their feet, it all flew by in such a wonderful blur of getting jiggy with it and happy memories.

Sarah and Caleb’s story in their own words:

How did you guys meet?

We met on a Bumble, the dating app. Our first date was at McMenamins Anderson School and it lasted 6 hours!

Tell us about the proposal!

My whole family went to Kauai last February to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthdays. While there Caleb proposed on the beach right after sunset. Somehow we were the only ones on the beach at that time!

Why did you choose your venue?

I have always wanted a snow/winter wedding and that venue had a perfect feel, plus it was one of the only ones that allowed outdoor snow ceremonies. I also loved how many people could stay onsite for the whole weekend.

Hello everyone! It’s TGIF so why not treat yourself to some more Bizarre Wedding News and get yourself ready for the weekend? This time around we’ve got some bridezillas, “naked brides,” and last but not least–cake! Let’s get going!

https://www.hindustantimes.com/sex-and-relationships/pubg-themed-pre-wedding-shoot-is-officially-a-thing/story-lCkj5cUZJKPPWcusJJA4EP.html?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190125.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

If you haven’t heard of PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds (commonly known as PUBG), Fortnite, Apex Legends, or even Tetris 99, well, they’re the big new commotion in the video game world. Battle Royales as they are called, it’s essentially The Hunger Games, but in video game format. They have reached some heights in terms of popularity, that now couples are having pre-wedding shoots themed after their favorite battle royales.

If you are reading this and happen to live in Mumbai, then there’s a photographer there for you who will help you get the shots done. Doing a test shot for Aakash B. Jain, the photos made their way to the internet and exploded in popularity. Be sure to check out the article for the awesome pics!

Assuming you read the intro, you probably skimmed to find this article, you silly pervs. Alas, there isn’t actually any nudity here, rather a new wedding trend known as the “see-through” dress. The article describes them as “mostly sheer, with skin-toned lining and strategically placed lace decorations.” Judging by the video, these dresses make quite the statement. Not sure how they will talk off in some of the cooler climates, especially if your big day ends up being cloudy. Though you can’t deny they all look phenomenal! Check out the link for a quick video!

We love hearing about bridezillas, mostly because they are often so unreal in their absurdity that it feels like like a highly-entertaining fictional tale than anything. But boy are they real, and this one is quite shocking. In case you didn’t know, there’s many pages dedicated to wedding-shaming, which is just dumb if you think about it.

One bride went on to comment about one of her bridesmaid’s “awful orange red hair,” and even went to claim that she would ruin all of their shared photos. You’d be surprised at how many defenders the bridezilla has–so now we pose the question to you: do you ask your bride to change their hair or accept them for who they are?

More fashion talk, this time for the bridesmaids. Martha Stewart Weddings poses the question, “should your bridesmaids’ gowns be as formal as your wedding dress?” Aleesha Thomas gets to the bottom of it by simply saying “it all depends on your preference,” and then digs into some more of the specifics you should follow in case you still can’t decide.

The three major tips she has are, “choose styles that are as or less formal,” “when in doubt, choose the same fabric,” and “remember that the length of the dresses makes a difference.” Along with the explanations she provides, these three tips will surely help you when it comes to making a decision!

With millennials now entering into married life more and more frequently, and considering the state of affairs for the generation in terms of jobs and the economy, it’s no surprise we have stricter marrying habits and ultimately longer-lasting marriages. Do you really need fancy silverware that you use once a year anymore? What about fancy bedding, towels, an expensive toaster and all of the other stereotypical wedding gifts? Sure, you may need some, but what you probably really need is somewhere to put it all…like a house.

Which is exactly what Armand Lebrilla and Stephanie Cuellar decided to do when they got married back in August. They went to Honeyfund, which is typically used for honeymoons, but asked for money for a down payment instead. It makes sense: if people are already dropping hundreds of dollars for wedding gifts, at least have it be something truly useful! Though they didn’t actually make enough for their down payment, they now have enough in savings to work more towards owning a home in the future.

This story is about none other than the “Ace of Cakes” himself, Duff Goldman, who just got married to Johnna Colbry back in January. I do warn you, this could make some vegetarians and vegans a little queasy:

While the dinosaurs in the background might be enough to make you turn your head, it’s the cakes that get the real scrutiny–particularly the meat one.

Yep. A meat cake.

Perhaps it’s best for Goldman to describe it in his own words, “The bottom tier is meatballs, the second tier is meatloaf, third tier is lamb shawarma, and the top tier is scrapple.” Feeling appetised yet? Well, the icing is also mashed potatoes…and the flowers are bacon. No, I am not lying. To…top…it all off, they converted a chocolate fountain into a gravy fountain. So there you go. Meat cake. Sound tasty or not?

Smith Wedding on 3/2/19 at Hidden Meadows in Snohomish, Wa

“The best videographer around!

I’ve been thinking about what to say…. Reid and his partner Matt were so amazing to work with and really on top of everything. They were there from the start to the end of the day, capturing all of the most important parts. He got the video to me in a week…. I was planning on at least waiting a month for the video. But apparently they are over achievers. Haha.

But honestly. I really felt like they enjoyed the day almost as much as we did. They laughed with us and shared all the important moments with us. My now husband has brain cancer and this wedding was planned in a month, and these guys gave their whole Saturday away to document our day.

I can’t say enough nice things about them. Obviously the fact that they donated their services to a family they didn’t know but just came across their story, says a lot about the kind of people they are. I really enjoyed working with them and honestly having this video to look back on whenever I want really just makes the whole thing that much more special.

Thank you Reid and Matt. From my entire family to yours, thank you…. when I say I’ve watched the video probably 3-5 times a day since you sent it to me on Saturday is not an exaggeration…”

It’s been a while since we got to head out to Snohomish, particularly the Hidden Meadows wedding venue! So we were pretty thrilled for the Smith’s big wedding day at the beginning of March. This 350-guest venue is breathtaking all around. From the rustic charm to the sprawling fields and everything in between, we will never get tired of coming here. You can even get views of Mt. Pilchuck as you stroll around the patio, or simply rest by the fire pit and enjoy the summer sky.

Every wedding is special, no doubt about it. It’s one of the happiest days of anyone’s life, and you get to share it with your partner who feels just the same way, as well as your family and friends. Then you have weddings like the Smiths’ where everything comes together in such a profound way that you wonder if maybe fate really does exist.

For those interested in the full, unabridged story of their storied romance, trials and tribulations and uncompromising love for each other, all you gotta do is click here to read Dan Manning’s account of the day.  Three years ago in February, Josh and Erin met on a dating site. An “instant connection,” is putting it lightly, and within the year they were already living together with Josh’s (technically now their) kids, and planning for the future. Only to have December 2016 roll around with Josh ending up in the hospital due to a seizure and eventual cancer diagnosis.

They removed the tumor shortly after, but then he was diagnosed with Grade 3 Anaplastic astrocytoma brain cancer. After a year of treatment, Erin wound up pregnant (despite being told it was highly unlikely) and gave birth to a boy in May 2018. This past January rolled around, and another diagnosis revealed the cancer was back and he had about a year to live. Like all awesome moms, Erin’s came over and gifted Josh her own ring to propose to Erin with, and within the day they were engaged. This has all the makings for a hopelessly romantic and heart-swooning movie, even more so once you see the final decisions for the big day!

So, Erin went to the internet to post about their story in hopes that there would be some charitable organizations that would help them tie the knot. Sure enough, they rounded up all of the necessary vendors and got ready for their wedding day with only several weeks notice. Be sure to check out Dan Manning’s account of the day himself before reading on to ours. Sometimes things are just meant to happen the way they are, and everything about this day reads perfection, as you will shortly find out!

A brisk March morning greeted us along with fog rolling in over the fields. Nestled up inside, avoiding the chill, the ladies and gents spent the morning getting all done up. The boys were rocking some lovely maroon vests and ties, while the bridal party some sparkly dresses with matching maroon bottoms.

As the morning progressed, it soon became time for the lovely first look between Erin and Josh. Meeting underneath a wooden covering with curtains tied to the sides and little chandeliers hanging, Erin approached Josh and soon they were all over each other with excitement.

We led them around the farm, posing in fields and by barns, looking as loving and ready as ever to be married. The lighting was so unique while we were out there and we loved every minute of it. We could tell they were getting antsy to get to the major part of the day, so we squeezed in a few group shots and then headed inside for the ceremony!

It was readily apparent that this ceremony was going to be just so wonderful. As the officiant began, he goes “welcome and thank you all for joining us for joyous occasion as my first time as a wedding officiant…possibly my last.” What followed was a series of lovely stories about their meeting, their love for each other and all the things they want to do together. At one point, Erin promises to “be less stubborn than the day I was before,” to which Josh retorted, “that would be nice.”

With everyone laughing, loving and ready for these two to finally tie the knot, it was just up to the officiant to give the magic words for these two to become husband and wife. Once it finally happened, there was hardly a dry eye in the room…and the two kissed and became one. Knowing full well the story behind it all, that kiss meant more to them than anything else in the world.

Taking some time just to themselves, the rest of the group headed over to the reception hall for some finger foods and libations. Once the newlyweds rolled on in, it was time to get the party started. Once the lights dimmed down, the music started bumping and got everyone to their feet. A night of celebrating life, love and happiness followed. Everyone is in the highest of spirits and wanting to groove their way onto the dance floor.

With just a little bit of sunlight left, we went outside for some tremendous twilight hour shots of the newlyweds, eager to begin this brand new chapter of their life.

Welcome everyone to a brand new week of Bizarre Wedding News. As we barrel towards the 2019 wedding season, prepping along the way for all the spectacular ceremonies we are bound to witness, we still have to make time to keep you all informed about the wild world of weddings! This week we’ve got some new life, weird piercings, a French wedding–and yes, cake. Be ready: this week might make your skin crawl a little.

https://www.etonline.com/celebrity-wedding-planner-david-tutera-welcomes-baby-girl-with-husband-joey-toth-118089?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190125.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

While this doesn’t have anything to do with a wedding ceremony perse, celebrity wedding planner David Tutera, and his husband Joey Troth, just had a baby girl last month through a surrogate. Her name is Stella Toth-Tutera. David already has one child from a previous marriage, Cielo, who is five-years-old. If the name Tutera is at all familiar, it might be because back in 2013, he broke up with his ex, Ryan Jurica, who he had hired another surrogate for that would eventually produce twins. The controversy arose from the fact that the two were going to raise the fraternal twins separately.

Nonetheless, congratulations are in order for the happy couple!

One of Brides.com best publications is their “Wedding of the Day,” and their one for January 22 is quite the doozy! Following Caroline and Courtney, two Australian nurses who had met in 2011 and started dating in 2013. Back in 2017, Courtney asked Caroline to marry her in a romantic little picnic at the beach.

With Caroline being Irish, they thought they should at least get married in Europe. They had decided the “high chance of rain eliminated Ireland,” as an option, but they finally landed on the highly luxurious South of France. To be exact, the Chateau De Robernier. The 16th century venue is just drop-dead amazing. It really feels like royalty based simply on the pictures, though we can hardly imagine what it must have been like getting to walk the grounds! Check out the article for a full breakdown of the day!

Brace yourselves, things are about to get weird. A new trend known as Finger Piercings is slowly taking over and making its way for the wedding industry. Instead of popping a ring on your finger, you can get it embedded in your skin just below the surface. These have been around for a while, and practically speaking they aren’t too favorable considering how easy it can be for it to get caught on something, and well…you know. The article states that “the ring finger takes roughly a year to maybe accept the embedded ring.” That’s right. Your body might not even accept it. Remember our article last time about smoke bombs at weddings? Add this one to the list of no-thank-yous.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/8250341/meghan-markle-royal-wedding-cake-mrkipling-lemonade-elderflower-slices/?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190123.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

With that out of the way, there’s no better way to wrap up the week than to talk even more about the Royal Wedding between Meghan and Harry. More specifically, however, about their cake. Noted for not sticking with tradition, the Royal couple chose a three-tier sponge cake (though “simple” it actually cost around 50,000 euros), which consisted of Lemon and Elderberry.

For those who didn’t get a seat at the wedding (or those unwilling to pay for the slices from eBay), you can now buy the uniquely flavored cakes in the form of Mr. Kiplings slices. Note, however, that this is “lemonade” and not simply lemon. For being on the cheap, you really do get to taste royalty…but only if you live in England or want to have some imported over here.

That does it for this weeks folks! Hopefully the cake made up for the nasty piercings. As always, if you have anything you want to share or see, let us know and we will make it happen!
