Welcome everyone to another page turning installment of Bizarre Wedding New. The summer sun is burning hot, and that means wedding season is booming. Don’t worry, in between those lovely videos of people getting married we want to make sure you are up to date with all of the weird wedding news going on around the world. This week, we have got some violence, sadness, and a few happy announcements to share, so buckle up because it’s time to get educated!

In case you missed the Jonas/Chopra wedding, which saw several days of intense celebration over in India, there’s even more Mumbai weddings that have sent shockwaves through the wedding vine. Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta had a massive wedding, reportedly “one of the most expensive weddings in the country’s history,” and we have already mentioned this before. They even had a pre-wedding celebration in which Coldplay, Maroon 5 and Chainsmokers performed.

YouTube star Bhuvan Bam decided to have some fun with the ritzy wedding videos, dubbing over them and throwing in some of his own creations. The result is some hilarious fun that hopefully Ambani and Mehta don’t take too much offense to!

Your wedding photos and videos are your primary time machine in bringing you back to the big day. It was one of the highlights of your life and being able to relive every memory, song, dance and bite of cake that made your wedding oh-so special is so crucial to the whole experience. But as the world is round, there are some people who create unnecessary suffering.

Jessica Craney had hired Gary Helland to shoot her wedding, for the “promotional price” of about $2,000. This package entailed a large canvas photo and twin photo books. Craney only received the canvas photo, but not after significant pestering. She has been married for over three years. She hired an outside company to help get the books, but he never answered the door. He later told Craney “some things slipped between the sofa cushion.” For a week, sure. But not for three years. We have yet to hear if she has finally received them.

The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are a pretty big deal to us. The scintillating gossip and drama eventually (or should I say hopefully?) lead to a big proposal at the end of the season. Former Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, has finally got a date in mind for her wedding, and a location. She is planning on “somewhere in the Caribbean in August.” To us, that sounds pretty grand!

She also had some interesting opinions on the rumors suggesting Khloe Kardashian joining The Bachelorette. She goes on to say, “I mean, I feel like she’s tried everything else, so why not try the show?” She finishes it off by suggesting, “It’s worked for me. I think I was a little shocked with how aggressively she said she wasn’t going to do it.” What do you think? Should she?

This last story is possibly one of our most thrilling (it involves the police and jail). Imagine having a wonderful beachfront wedding, a bright sunny sky in Florida, and you are snapping some photos…when all of a sudden some stranger starts photobombing your shots. How many times would you ask them to stop before finally doing something more drastic?

Jeffery E. Alvord had to come to that conclusion the hard way. After supposedly asking photobomber Trevor Mooney to move several times, even offering him cash, there was a moment where everything boiled over and Alvord struck Mooney in “supposed self-defense,” promptly breaking his nose and glasses. The police arrived and everyone had their own version of the story, though many claimed that Mooney’s version was full of crap. Alvord then spent what should’ve been his wedding night in jail, but he got hitched shortly after getting out of jail.

Godwin Wedding on 5/25/19 at Nature’s Connection Place in Arlington, Wa

Living in the city can get a little tiresome after a while. You start to miss the trees, unpolluted streams, sounds of birds chirping and that whiff of newly-blossomed flowers. And then you start to imagine rolling fields of green, towering trees as far as the eye can see, only to be brought back to the reality that all that shade is from the skyscrapers, and all that noise is really just honking and people screaming. So if you want to get in touch with your natural side, Nature’s Connection Place is the exact wedding venue you need, as was discovered by the Godwins.

Even though it’s hardly an hour outside of Seattle, it really feels like some long-lost paradise untarnished by modern civilization. With little ponds, fountains, bridges and a serene sense of calmness, you get quite a bit of bonuses in your package. Access to the entire area, sound systems, tents, tables, attendants and dressing rooms, and the cleanup is included as well. That’s a pretty great deal!

The Godwin’s wedding got off to a gray and cloudy start, there would be rain to come later, but not quite yet to rain on this parade! If our drone footage doesn’t quite put into perspective the beauty of this place, perhaps you should hit up Google for more proof. As the day started rolling along, the ladies sipped some champagne while the guys threw back some beers.

Eventually the rain started to fall, but any Seattlite knows just how pleasant it can be when it’s already warm out. Clear umbrellas were provided to keep the rain off their heads, and soon it was time to get some group photos taken. Braving the rain, the ladies and gents looked superb in their deep red gowns and gray suits. The groom himself sported a darker suit and a bow tie, adding even more dapperness.

Emotional, heart-warming vows reduced the bride, groom and everyone else to a puddle of tears, and mentions of their grumpy cat brought everyone back from the brink. Hannah and TJ were ever-so ready to get hitched, and when the officiant finally gave them the magic words, they kissed and became husband and wife.

By the end of the ceremony, the sun had burnt enough of a hole in the clouds to let in some light. Retreating inside for some drinks and food, the newlyweds shared their first dance. With the rain gone, the cornhole boards were brought out, hot beverages were served and the partying began.

Once the sun had passed beyond the horizon, the dancing continued under twinkling lights. After the bouquet and garter toss, it was almost too dark to see. And so the newlyweds were sent off to start their life together as husband and wife.

Thank you again to Hannah and TJ for choosing Best Made Videos® to film their big day. We hope your first month of marriage has gone wonderfully!

How did you guys meet?

Tinder

Tell us about the proposal!

TJ surprised me after first year law school finals with a trip to Maui. We had a wonderful week and planned to propose on a sunset dinner cruise. Unfortunately, the boat was not what he expected! It was a cloudy day and someone proposed behind us. TJ completely panicked! He rushed me off the boat and tried to find a place to propose on the beach, but the tide kicked in and the shore was rocky. He finally just flew his hands up and got down on one knee to propose.

Why did you choose your venue?

Maid of honor’s sister had a beautiful wedding there and wanted to recreate that feeling.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

Moments of me getting ready, me and TJ, us with our families. TJ and I are a military couple and have not lived together in 2 years. We are looking forward to footage of us together because we don’t have much of it.

Hannah and TJ’s story in their own words:

Hannah and TJ met on a dating app in August of 2016 and had their first date at Lost Lake in Capitol Hill, Seattle. After a perfect date, TJ asked Hannah to be his girlfriend. After just three months of dating, TJ learned that he was being transferred to Seoul, South Korea for one year with the United States Army. Although the thought of TJ being out of the country for a year was daunting, they were determined to make the relationship work. For the next four months, Hannah and TJ made the most of their time together before TJ left for Korea. After TJ left in early March, it wasn’t until June that TJ and Hannah were reunited. Hannah lived in Seoul with TJ for two and half months until their time was cut short by the conflicts with North Korea and the United States in August. She flew home and soon adopted their cat, Kimchi, before beginning law school in September.

After TJ finished his time in South Korea, he flew home for a month-long vacation in Washington. To Hannah’s complete surprise, he told her that he had a weeklong vacation in Maui planned. At the end of an amazing week, TJ knelt down on one knee and proposed. As Hannah continued with law school, TJ began his Captain’s Career Course at Fort Lee in Richmond, VA. On April 12, 2018, Hannah and TJ were married in a courthouse in Winchester, Virginia.

In the autumn of 2018, Hannah began her second-year of law school and TJ was promoted to Captain and transferred to Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas to serve within the 3rd Calvary Regiment. As both Hannah and TJ work towards their admirable career goals, they look forward to their wedding day, a special day where they can reunite and share their love for each other in front of friends and family.

Welcome back everyone to another fun week of Bizarre Wedding News! These articles key you in on some of the weirdness going on in the world of weddings. Depending on the week, we bring you monsters, tragedy, humor, tips, and most importantly–cake. Alas we do not have any of that goodness this week, but we do have plenty of celebrity news to get excited about, so let’s dig into it!

https://tasteofcountry.com/miranda-lambert-wants-privacy-after-wedding/

Celebrity weddings gather astronomical coverage when it comes to paparazzi, fashion sites and, well, sites like our own. Miranda Lambert, who has certainly had her fair share of time in the spotlight, just wants to enjoy some privacy with her new hubbie, Brendan McLoughlin.

Married for about four months now, the newlyweds have tried their hardest to slip by photographers and the like, culminating in a little incident where Lambert asked a reporter, “If I say something, will you leave please?” Taste of Country does, however, bring up why their marriage would garner a touch more inquisition, “it’s hardly surprising that interest is high regarding Lambert’s new union. The quickie wedding has many scratching their heads in regards to its speed and remarkably hidden status.” What are your thoughts? Should celebs have a little more right to privacy?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2019/03/01/jonas-brothers-sucker-video-stars-priyanka-chopra-sophie-turner/3025872002/

Were you starting to wonder about the Jonas Brothers and how we haven’t talked about them for a while? Well don’t you worry: they have been up to plenty this year and will get to them in due time. On top of what feels like every brother getting married this year, they have officially reunited and released some new music. Most notably, their song ‘Sucker,’ which just so happens to feature the brothers’ wives.

That’s right: their catchy new song stars Kevin, Nick and Joe, along with Danielle Jonas, Sophie Turner and Pryianka Chopra. Of course the bigger news is that Sophie got hitched to Joe, but that’s a story for later.

https://www.bustle.com/p/bachelor-ben-higgins-is-hosting-the-wedding-party-event-where-12-couples-get-married-for-15k-less-16441716

Whenever we hear word of The Bachelor, we wonder what sort of gossip and scandal is going on. Luckily, this time there is something actually pretty cool. Bachelor Ben Higgins (who went after Lauren Bushnell), is now hosting a wedding event called “The Wedding Party.”

Essentially, he is taking a group of 12 couples to the Denver Polo Club in Colorado for a big, joint wedding. Explaining that he loves marriage and wants others to get married too, he said that this will allow some to do it for a “fraction of the cost.” Check out the article for more details on how to sign up. Perks are included, but the price tag is a little hefty (but certainly nowhere near planning you own).

https://www.brides.com/story/katy-perry-wants-lionel-richie-to-sing-at-her-upcoming-wedding-to-orlando-bloom

I don’t know about you, but I always seem to forget that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are engaged. Make whatever joke you want about seeing fireworks, “roaring” with excitement or what have you, but apparently the singer wants the legendary Lionel Richie to perform at their wedding, who is also a coworker of Perry on American Idol..

During an interview on Live With Kelly and Ryan, this prospect was brought up, with Richie saying, “I am so into our little marriage here, that I’ve gotta tell you I just feel like we’re part of the family.” While that seems vague, we’re holding onto hope that he will in fact perform. Fireworks not necessary.

Cleary – Gawlak Wedding on 5/26/19 at The Georgetown Ballroom in Seattle, Wa

Seattle has so many distinct and wonderful neighborhoods, each with their own charming characteristics. But while places like Ballard and Fremont are often talked about, sometimes the neighborhoods a little to the south are left by the wayside. Take Georgetown for instance. Lying on the southern border of SODO and the Industrial District, there are tons of great restaurants, shops and even an outdoor market that make it grand. The Cleary – Gawlak wedding certainly helped remind us how great the neighborhood is, especially the Georgetown Ballroom.

A Memorial Day Weekend wedding, though without the blazing hot sun, meant Katerina and Jimmy could get ready without worry about sweating through their clothes. Some tie-tying tutorials kept us the guys busy while the ladies flew through their hair and makeup. After a few glasses of celebratory champagne, we headed off to the Ballroom (which, in reality is an awesome brick-and-mortar building) where even more drinks were to be had as the final touches came together.

Planning your big day at the Georgetown Ballroom is easy and painless. Offering up tables, chairs, a variety of rooms, private courtyard and more, they will also help you find catering to bring food to your reception. The industrial feel gives it a unique feel all on its own.

Before we could even fathom it, it was time for Katerina and Jimmy to get hitched. The wide open area for the reception was slowly filled with loved ones, while dazzling lanterns hung from the ceiling. Katerina descended a staircase with twinkling lights before making her way down the aisle to her future husband. Vows brought on the waterworks, while a humorous officiant kept sobs at bay with laughs. With the magic words, the two were able to kiss and become husband and wife!

The utterly romantic spaces inside, which were low-lit and just the right amount of “cramped” made our newlyweds look like the lovebirds that they are. We got outside for some shots with the bridal party while there was still light in the sky, but soon enough it was time for them to make their grand entrance through a big garage door, “unveiling” the new husband and wife.

Delicious food followed (did you see that cake?) while everyone was itching to get on the dance floor. Once all the chairs were cleared away, it was the perfect space for a dance floor. The lights slowly dimmed down as time went on, and as more and more booze flowed, the bigger number of dancers that joined. Once the strobe lights and disco ball came out, there was no stopping this crowd from busting a move!

Eventually, and not without some reluctance, it was time to call it a night, though the memories will surely last a lifetime. Congratulations to Katerina and Jimmy on your big day! We hope your first month of marriage has gone magically. Thank you again for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your big day!
