Do you smell that in the air? That smell of flowers, pollen and the unforgettable scent of fresh rain on dry pavement. Spring is officially here and we are just so freaking happy about it. Warm weather means getting to go outside, see the pretty flowers…but most importantly it’s wedding season! Cue up the opening of Wedding Crashers and that’s pretty much how we’re feeling right now. Nevertheless, the weird world of wedding news still exists so we will continue to keep you informed while we go shoot some more weddings! Let’s get down to this week’s stories!

https://www.malaymail.com/news/life/2019/01/24/when-the-postman-crashes-a-wedding-to-deliver-a-package-video/1716047

Fasten your seatbelts everyone, we’re heading to Malaysia! Yeah, you heard that right (and yes, the weird world of weddings is this big!) We all are suckers for Amazon Prime free delivery. The thrill of getting any online delivery is up there with some the best things in life.

But what about literally during your wedding ceremony? Now, I’ve been excited for some packages before, but to have one interrupt a wedding might not go over so well. Peny, a Malaysian bride, was getting hitched when a postman arrived to make her sign for a package. Everyone turned a bright red, and they even invited him for some photos! Watch the video for the full hilarity!

This one will hopefully thaw out the rest of those frozen hearts leftover from winter. An Alabama photographer shot a wedding with Mary Bourne Butts and her husband Jim a few months ago. What made it so special is the photographer was able to capture a poignant moment when Mary danced with her father who is wheelchair-bound.

The video garnered so much attention, that even Ellen DeGeneres caught wind of it and invited the newlyweds to the show where they received a $25,000 check from Cheerios. For more of the emotional details, click the link above…but be sure to bring tissues!

This one is quite the tale, and is described by the host of the podcast as “next-level crazy.” Referring to a Facebook post leaked by a bridesmaid, this is just another one of those wonderful bridezilla stories. In it, the bride outlines a dress code for her bridesmaids, including specific colors for specific sized girls. Also, they had to spend at least $1,000 on their dresses.

But then once this post got out, the bride made all of her bridesmaids take a polygraph test. Not kidding whatsoever. For the full story, be sure to listen to the whole podcast!

https://www.myrecipes.com/news/costco-cheese-wedding-cake?utm_medium=40digest.7days3.20190202.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

You may remember an article from another Bizarre Wedding News that dug into some deals you can score by doing part of your wedding shopping at Costco. Well, I hate to say it…I mean, I really hate to say this: this article really takes…the cake.

With that all said and done, there is some real concern to be had here. Costco is now selling a wedding cake made entirely of cheese. Known as the Sid Wainer & Son Cheese Lover Artisan Wedding Cake…you can get it for the price of $440. What you get is approximately 24 lbs of cheese that can serve at least 100 people (maybe less depending on who you invite) and comes with, “Danish Blue, Murcia al Vino, Tuscan Sheep’s Cheese, and Brillat Savarin Triple Cream Brie.” If you hadn’t heard of most of those you aren’t alone…but for almost $500 you can taste them all yourself!

https://www.brides.com/story/david-tutera-wedding-dresses

The name Tutera might sound familiar to you, and if you’ve been reading our Bizarre Wedding News over the last few weeks, that’s exactly where you heard it. Being a celebrity wedding planner, he usually always makes our lists. Last time was because he welcomed a new daughter with his partner. But now he is also launching his own bridal collection.

Called “David Tutera Bridal,” the line of “custom wedding dresses” was launched at the end of January. The already prolific designer and planner has detailed the pricing, and before you have a heart attack, note that these are all “custom and couture.” You can pick up one of these gowns for as low as $4,800 or as much as close to $10k. Wedding dresses are utterly important, so would you pull the trigger on one of these?

Celebrities are always doing something crazy when it comes to weddings. Swords, animals, week-long celebrations and more have dotted our Bizarre Wedding News dozens of times. This article from Insider goes in-depth with all of the crazy wedding dresses celebrities have rocked on their wedding day. And some of them really are crazy.

A long, long time ago, Shakespeare fanboy and Harry Potter star Kenneth Branagh was married to another Harry Potter legend, Emma Thompson. Her dress, though, is a sight to behold. Dropping just past the knee and chock-full of a bevy of colors, she looked utterly adorable in their 1989 wedding.

On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, you have Baywatch alum Pamela Anderson who got married in pretty much the exact manner you would expect her to. In a white string bikini. Oh, and she did it twice.

Of course you also have the amazing Vivienne Westwood dress for Dita Von Teese’s wedding to Marilyn Manson. The “iridescent violet” gown is described as, “the 18th century and the 22nd century had a baby.” From the looks of it, that sounds pretty darn accurate.

Welcome everyone to another edition of Bizarre Wedding News! Wedding season is almost here and we are so very excited. We’ve got for great stories coming to you this week, and one in particular is going to be of interest to all of you Costco shoppers out there hoping to cut costs on weddings! Without any further ado, let’s get cracking!

https://5newsonline.com/2019/01/29/oklahoma-man-finds-lost-wedding-ring-during-run/?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190130.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

We see so many stories about people losing wedding rings and it just breaks out hearts! This week is a little different: we found one where a ring has been found but the owner is still at large! While on a jog around his neighborhood, Oklahoma man John Daum noticed something shiny on the ground. It wasn’t gold or anything, but black and metallic. It was a wedding band.

Doing his due diligence, Daum posted about it to social media but came up with zero leads. His next step? Turning to the local news to help try and track it down. He described it as having “two cuts in it. This is roughed up, not shiny in the center, but just two rings around it.” There is also an inscription on the inside that will be used to test and make sure the claimant is actually the true owner! Best of luck!

Who doesn’t love Costco? From the free samples, to the pizza, chicken, booze, meats and bulk-sized toilet paper, it has it all. Southern Living realized this and wondered what you could get for your wedding day on the cheap and plentiful. The answer is quite a bit.

First and foremost: Wine. From their own name-brand wine to some of the more fancy European and Oceanic blends, there’s hundreds of bottles to choose from. With wine, then natural next step is snacks. If you’ve ever perused their snack section, you know it to be utterly overwhelming, especially when they always happen to have stuff you’ve never heard of!

They close off the list with a healthy tip for your feet: buy your insoles at Costco! Be sure to check out the article for the other purchases you should make in bulk!

https://www.news4jax.com/consumer/months-later-bride-still-without-wedding-video

We have to transition to some more upsetting news, now. Sandra Pryor, a Jacksonville bride, got married about a year ago at this point. Congratulations, right? Definitely! But she’s been desperately waiting for one key item: the video she paid thousands of dollars for. That’s right, Pryor does not have the video from her wedding day.

The company in question, CollabCreation Films, is rightfully sketchy. As of January, it was “permanently closed” according to Google. Apparently paying close to $3k for the video, she has never heard anything back a Mr. Kevin Remington. But the news station down there has, with an email supposedly from Remington himself claiming “we are working diligently to rectify any situation that is outstanding.”

Crazy, right? Here’s to hoping things get resolved!

https://www.brides.com/story/wedding-fail-tweets?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190130.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

Our final story will hopefully make up for the sadness of the last because it features a few hilarious tweets about weddings. Using the hashtag, WeddingFail, Brides.com tracked down some of the funniest tweets about…you guessed it…wedding fails. One was just a series of unfortunate events from Emily Winslow Sigler, “my wedding day was perfect…Except for the fact that I ripped my dress, stepped on broken glass and dislocated my knee at the reception.”

Another one, likely to happen to all of us who aren’t good at public speaking, comes from Kelly Thornhill, “My husband said, “to love, honor and PERISH” instead of cherish! The judge gave him a do over!” Luckily they got the mulligan!

Welcome everyone! The weather is no longer so freaking frigid, the sun is peeking out more, and wouldn’t you know it, but wedding season is coming up! We’re feeling pretty excited about all that and so should you. After a dreadful winter, it’s about time for some fun in the sun and wedding celebrations! This week we’ve got a few quick stories to tide you over until we get really going with the new weddings! Get ready, here we go.

https://www.eonline.com/news/1005510/chris-pratt-and-katherine-schwarzenegger-have-already-started-planning-their-wedding

We were all saddened by the breakup of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, one of the few Hollywood couples we rooted for to last (good thing there’s still Dax and Kristen,) but now Chris is engaged to the daughter of the Terminator himself: Katherine Schwarzenegger. Engaged for a few months now, the couple have moved fast and furiously, citing their faith as one of the reasons they have been so blissfully happy. So far, they have decided on a summer wedding, perhaps in California where Katherine’s father was the Governator as well.

Alas, we Washingtonians can be a little sad that Chris won’t be tying the knot up in Lake Stevens…but if they end up changing their minds, we’re throwing our hat into the ring to shoot it!

https://www.vogue.com/article/priyanka-chopra-and-nick-jonas-north-carolina-wedding-reception?utm_medium=40digest.7days2.20190129.carousel&utm_source=email&utm_content=&utm_campaign=campaign

If you think the partying doesn’t stop for the Jonas Brothers, you’re absolutely right. At least, that’s what this article goes on to state as Priyanka and Nick have had yet another reception, now stateside. What was one of the most storied weddings we’ve heard of in a while, just keeps on going. Holding it at Nellie’s Southern Kitchen (owned, by you guessed it, the Jonas family), they gorged on chicken and dumplings, fried catfish and more.

On top of already hitting up multiple honeymoon locations, these two are having quite the time as married couple. Who knows what’s in store for their six-month anniversary!?

I hate to do this to you, but now we have to talk about money–particularly what you’re spending on things for your wedding that really add up without you realizing! Starting out with the small things: consider the stamp that goes on all your invitations (and thank-you cards), that’s going to add up quite fast depending on the size of wedding. Sure you could opt for emails, but this isn’t some office party you’re inviting everyone to!

Wedding cake tasting is also a sneaky cost, depending on your baker and how many samples you go through. Oh, and if you’re making your own website for your big day, don’t forget about having to buy a domain name for the duration of your engagement! Check out the article for even more hidden costs!

https://hellogiggles.com/news/justin-bieber-hailey-baldwin-wedding/

Justin Bieber has really ebbed and flowed in the eyes of the general public. Pop sensation, annoying teenager, silly shenanigans and now he is married! Remember the time we tried to deport him?

Justin and Haley Bieber got hitched way back in September in a simple courthouse wedding. But as of January, they were still thinking about hosting a big celebration for family and friends who didn’t get to celebrate the marriage itself. Except, it has been continually pushed back to as far as this month.

So far there hasn’t been much word, but just the other day Justin came out to announce that he is taking a bit of a break from producing music to focus on his marriage and (based on some pics from around the internet) a supposed baby on the way! Here’s to hoping they are both happy and enjoying married life!

Flom Wedding on 2/23/18 at Mountain Springs Lodge in Leavenworth, Wa

Best Made Videos was great and easy to work with. Answered all of my questions and tailored my videos to exactly what I wanted. The day was a whirlwind for me so it was so nice to watch the beautiful highlight video and see details I missed. I highly recommend Reid and his team! I am so so happy to have these wonderful videos!”

Winter weddings can be tough here in the Pacific Northwest. On top of it already likely to be raining, this last year in particular also saw us inundated with an absurd amount of that fluffy white stuff that falls from the sky. At even the slightest whiff of snow, mass panic spreads throughout the reason and you best bet you want to avoid any roads…especially with hills. But at the same time, there’s nothing quite like a beautiful lodge such Mountain Springs blanketed in that fluffy snow. That’s what the Floms got on their wedding day.

Make no mistake, it was cold. The drone footage shows off a frozen pond and a winter wonderland for Sarah and Caleb to tie the knot in…literally. Seldom do we have outdoor weddings in the winter. Seldom do we actually have the bride and groom standing in the snow itself. But seldom do we meet families like the Floms, so we’re always willing cross things off our bucket list!

Staying inside the wood lodge for as long as possible, while also sipping away at whiskey, the morning flew by before it was time to head on out into the cold air for the first look. Looking regal in his uniform, Caleb waited for his bride on a snowy road, complete with a dusted wooden fence. Trying their best to look warm and cozy (while we were shivering ourselves), we had them walk around the area that feels like it would be thousands of miles from Seattle.

Not the have anyone else left out of the frigid fun, we got the rest of the party out for some group shots. As the snow started to whizz around, we headed back for a bit of a reprieve to let the snow die down. Soon enough it was time to hop in the sleigh…yes, you read that right…and head off to the wedding. Standing against the frozen pond, with the sleighs zipping across the fields behind them, it was really an unforgettable sight.

Once all was said and done, and following some lovely vows, the lovebirds finally got permission to kiss. So they did, and they all piled back into the sleigh for some warmer abodes. After we got inside, it was finally time to sign the paperwork to make this thing really official. A fire raging, tables set and the drinks flowing greeted the guests before the arrival of the newlyweds.

Delicious food warmed us even more, and soon it was time to open up the dance floor for a night of celebration. After the purple lights came on, and everyone got to their feet, it all flew by in such a wonderful blur of getting jiggy with it and happy memories.

Thank you again to Sarah and Caleb for picking Best Made Videos® to film their wedding! We absolutely loved it and hope your first two months have been going great! As always, if you have a question, comment or story to share, leave it below and we will gladly get back to you!

Sarah and Caleb’s story in their own words:

How did you guys meet?

We met on a Bumble, the dating app. Our first date was at McMenamins Anderson School and it lasted 6 hours!

Tell us about the proposal!

My whole family went to Kauai last February to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthdays. While there Caleb proposed on the beach right after sunset. Somehow we were the only ones on the beach at that time!

Why did you choose your venue?

I have always wanted a snow/winter wedding and that venue had a perfect feel, plus it was one of the only ones that allowed outdoor snow ceremonies. I also loved how many people could stay onsite for the whole weekend.
