Every wedding and video shoot has its own unique challenges and forces us to learn and re-adapt. Today’s post and lesson for clients and professionals alike is, IT’S ALL ABOUT FOLLOW UP!
It’s a tough balancing act when it comes to following up with potential clients. You don’t want to be a bother, but sometimes everyone just needs a little reminder every now and again. People live busy lives and they aren’t always thinking about securing their videographer or other wedding vendor for their wedding that seems like ages away.
I generally make it a rule to follow up with clients 3 times after our initial communication. I like to follow up after weekends (when the couples might have had a chance to sit down and crunch some numbers) or after dinner during the week (when I find I have a high number of clients who are home and able to respond to me).
I don’t know if my approach is any more or less successful than any other professional (and would welcome constructive feedback) but I do find I have more couples than not thanking me for my follow ups as opposed to telling me to go away! lol
